More better late than never

Continuing with the better late than never, here are a couple of links to check out. The first is to an article I wrote for Java.net on a very cool testing tool called Mockrunner. This tool really doesn’t get the attention it deserves. It a great tool for testing various J2EE technologies. I use it most often for testing Struts actions/forms.

The other link is to a presentation I gave to the Twin Cities Java User Group last August (jeez, I am running behind) entitled Developer Testing with Mock Objects. I covered the topic of Mock Objects as an effective means of creating isolated unit tests. I talked about a number of tools I use in my testing including EasyMock (my personal favorite), JMock, Mockrunner, and probably a couple of others. You can download the presentation and source code from the TCJUG website:

I had really hoped to do a lot more writing and presenting this year, but I finally decided I needed to get a whole lot more balance in my life. I still work quite a few hours, but I’ve definitely pared back my extracurricular technology activities. I’ll probably get back on it pretty soon as there are too many cool things to talk and write about.
